The Heart Behind the Flowers

Hi, I’m Shannon—the artist behind Deylight Photography. I’ve been capturing the world through a lens for over 25 years, but it wasn’t until I returned to nature photography that I truly found my happy place. These days, you’ll most often find me on a “flower walk,” wandering through my family’s property in West Virginia—a lovingly cultivated wildlife habitat—searching for blooms that seem to call to me. I believe flowers hold stories, energy, and even a little bit of soul—and I try to capture that through light, color, and careful composition.

I’m drawn to the kind of photography that makes you feel something—joy, awe, serenity, a quiet spark of happy. With each photo, I aim to create that sense of wonder and bring it into your everyday spaces. Whether it’s a bright suncatcher in a window or a print on your wall, I hope my work adds a little more beauty and brightness to your world.  Through every flower I photograph, that’s really what I’m trying to share:
